The Bonsai valve is unique as it incorporates a ‘variable Kv’ value. This means the basic valve can be adjusted to a variety of flow sizes which is especially useful because previously, each flow size needed a completely separate valve. By simplifying the design, having a low part count and using rotary actuators from outside the industry, the manufacturing cost has been reduced to about 25% of previous fixed Kv valves. However, because it is less prone to blockages, infinitely adjustable from open to closed, configurable in 2, 3 or 4-port modes, reliable and easier to fit than traditional valves, it can be sold at a premium. The valve has comprehensive patent cover.
